The airport was inaugurated in March 2026 and begins commercial operations in June 2026, bringing direct air travel to the region. Located about 40 km from Sector 128 by road, it opens a new gateway for residents travelling across India and abroad.
A metro extension linking the Aqua Line to the airport has a completed detailed project report and is proposed to connect Noida's metro network with Jewar. Once built, it would bring rail access to a corridor that currently relies on road travel.
